Jump! · Jan 9, 19:27

During the big snowstorm, Todd built a snowboarding/sledding run, complete with a jump off of our back deck. Champe and Caden got to ride with him a bunch of times. Check it out; it’s pretty thrilling.

Snow Miser · Nov 5, 10:56

Facts:
1. Yes, that’s my husband.
2. Yes, he is wearing a dress.
3. Yes, that is actual hair made out of ice, and yes it took him about 14 hours to carve it that way.
4. Yes, those are also actual icicles hanging from his nose and he made those too (the nose and the icicles, I mean).
5. He is the snow miser, in case you were born after 1975.
6. This is only ONE of THREE complicated costumes he wore that same day.
8. No, we do not have too much time on our hands, but that doesn’t stop Todd from obsessing about Halloween.

Sorry we don't have enough to share..... · Sep 11, 16:13

For those of you with a patience for cliffhangers, here is news you have all been waiting for.

Todd has harvested a Muscadine. Yes, three fruitless years (and now we know where that phrase comes from), and finally in the fourth year we have fruit. And yes, that is intentionally singular. Here, in all it’s glory is the fruit of four years of labor.

Perhaps by labor you think I mean Todd, sweating away, trying to get his grape(s) to grow? No, I mean me. It was work, I am telling you – HARD PAINSTAKING INTENSE AND OFTEN FRUSTRATING WORK – to listen to the ENDLESS stories about the grapes, to be summoned out at random to view the progress of the vines, to smile and nod patiently while Todd waxed poetic about fertilizing, to not tear my hair out in frustration when he spent hours lovingly covering them to shield them from the cold.

Anyway, so there was one grape. And Todd and Champe shared it.

It was bigger than a dime, but smaller than a nickel.

And then on the second night there was a plentiful harvest and we invited Myles Standish and Squanto over to share in our bounty.

Gimme a head of hair, baby; long, beautiful hair...... · Dec 27, 09:13

We went to North Carolina to visit Todd’s 94 year old Grandmother for Christmas. She has two living sisters; Kate, 88, and Vellie, 90, who both came over for dinner and gifts Christmas day.

When Kate saw Todd’s new long hair she said, “I didn’t recognize you; it’s beautiful — you look like Jesus!!!”

When Vellie saw Todd, she said, “Are you related to us? Who is your husband???”

Really, it took me like 20 minutes to stop laughing uncontrollably.

(Note to everyone, despite my fit of mirth, I LOVE my husband’s long hair, and he looks nothing like a girl.)

Our Anniversary · Sep 15, 16:01

Here’s how my loving husband of six years spent the day, while I, 9 months pregnant, stayed home all alone, to take care of our toddler.

OK, not really.

Todd DID go wakeboarding with buddies Brad and Fred, and I did NOT go, but Champe and I hung out with Jill and Zander and had a ton of fun, and this evening we are going out to a great French restaurant (in the city, just like childless or single people do!!) while the same Brad, Jill and Zander hang out with Champe.
